Big Brothers Big Sisters In School Mentoring Program

Do you have a spare hour a week?
If yes, then why not make a difference in a child's life? An hour is all it takes with Big Brothers Big Sisters In School Mentoring Program. Spending an hour a week with a child at their school can make a huge difference in that child's life. Why not do something new and fun and become a friend to a child in need! If you are over 19 and would like more information, please contact Vanessa Mossop at 902-543-4435 or vanessa.mossop@bigbrothersbigsisters.ca.

We Care About Each Other

BES and BJSHS students join together to form a a picture of a heart and show everyone that they care. Thanks to everyone for making that happen.

Check out the above link to find out directions and tips to walk or bike to school safely. You can also get a paper copy by asking at the office. A permanent link is located under documents or on the bottom left portion of this home page under Navigation. A big thank you to the School Travelling Plan committee for putting this map together so that we can all live a more active life.

Using your WITS

Bridgewater Elementary and the Bridgewater Police Services are involved in a excellent program to further support our students. The WITS Programs bring together schools, families and communities to create responsive environments that help children deal with bullying and peer victimization. WITS has two components: the WITS Primary Program (Kindergarten - Grade 3) and the WITS LEADS Program (Grades 4 - 6).  You can check it out at http://www.witsprogram.ca/

In the photo we have Cst. Jennifer Mason of the Bridgewater Police Services with two students who are using their WITS: Kara Day and Emily Higgins. They also have with them Wilma the Walrus (Our WITS Mascot). Thank you girls for using your WITS and also a big thank you to Cst. Mason for bringing this program to our school.
